Kevin McCarthy

Seattle bassist Kevin McCarthy gained his love for music starting as a trumpet player at a young age, eventually finding his way to bass – his true musical voice. Kevin has studied bass with Doug Miller, Steve Kim, Chuck Deardorf, and John Clayton.

Kevin is one of Seattle's busiest musician's, playing frequently around the area with his own quartet and trio. Kevin can also be heard as a sideman for many of the other fine musicians and vocalists in the area. He has performed with nationally known artists such as Pete Christlieb, Paquito D'Rivera, Allen Vizutti, and Jeff Kashiwa.

Although Kevin performs primarily on acoustic upright bass, he is an accomplished electric bassist, having performed with such music legends as The Coasters and Frankie Avalon.

Kevin also performs symphonic music as a member of Orchestra Seattle.
