His groups have appeared at Iridium, The Rainbow Room, Tavern on the Green, Sardi's, Metronome, The Player's Club and many others.
He has produced and recorded five albums including “Friday Evenings at Sardi’s,” “Only in New York,” “Tea for Two” and “Ten by Eleven.” Traina's most recent effort "Tip of the Hat" featuring the Joe Traina Septet is now available on all internet platforms.
"Tip of the Hat" has reached #34 on the JazzWeek chart and is enjoying radio play throughout the United States and Canada.

Joe has worked with dozens of nationally renowned jazz and Broadway orchestra musicians including Chuck Bergeron, Scott Neumann, Lee Musiker, Jeb Patton, Jerry Weldon, Mike Karn, Grant Stewart, Greg Gisbert, Scott Wendholt and Pete McGuinness.
Three-time GRAMMY Award nominee trombonist, vocalist and arranger Pete McGuinness and Traina have worked together on all recordings and McGuinness has arranged all of the charts for Traina’s quartet, quintet, septet and dectet.
For two and one-half years Joe Traina held forth at world-famous Sardi’s Restaurant in New York’s theatre district presenting not only many jazz musicians but vocalists from Broadway shows and cabaret including Marin Mazzie, Karen Ziemba, Lillias White, Howard McGillin, Tim Di Pasqua, Jo Sullivan Loesser and Terri White.
Traina also hosts a bi-weekly podcast entitled "Please Join Me" on the Anchor.fm platform which features interviews with artists across the spectrum of music, theatre, dance and literature.
Past guests have included jazz legends Ken Peplowski & Charles McPherson, lyricist Stephen Cole, dancer Dana Moore, best-selling author Philip R. Brown, actor Simon Jones.
