Jean-Marc Hebert

Jean-Marc Hebert is a guitarist and composer, initially trained in classical guitar. He recorded about fifteen albums in

various style as a performer and also as a co-composer. His carrer has benn influenced by explorations in jazz but also

outside jazz culture notably in world music (african, indian, arab, etc). "L'Origine éclatée" recorded with Lex French, Morgan Moore and Pierre Tanguay is his third project as a composer/leader after "L'Autre" (2007)and  "L'Attente" (2018) recorded with Marianne Trudel et Rémi-Jean Leblanc.

Montreal-based guitarist Jean-Marc Hebert's third album, L'Origine Eclatee, sounds like something out of the ECM Records catalog. He is joined by trumpeter Lex French, bassist Morgan Moore and drummer Pierre Tanguay, forming a patient, subdued chamber jazz atmosphere that opens the first of the Hebert originals, “La Deteinte."
