Giovanni Vannoni

Giovanni Vannoni is a pianist and composer born in Greve in Chianti in 1992. He began his piano career in 2013 with a concert at the Teatro del Sale in Florence. Over the following years, he played with various jazz ensembles, participating in several festivals and events. His interest in exploring new musical languages led him to collaborate in 2019 with composer and guitarist Davide Martiello for the Florentine electronic music festival "Diffrazioni".

In 2016, he graduated in jazz piano from the Siena Jazz University Academy, under the guidance of masters Stefano Onorati and Paolo Birro. In 2017, he began collaborating with guitarist Krishna Biswas, leading to the release in 2022 of the album "Piccola Impresa Irregolare," which was mentioned in Musica Jazz's TOP JAZZ 2022. The same magazine recognized Giovanni Vannoni among the new talents.

Meanwhile, he pursued a compositional path: In 2022, he earned a second-level degree in composition with the highest honors from the "Rinaldo Franci" Conservatory in Siena, under the guidance of Maestro Antonio Anichini. Among his achievements as a composer are an artistic residency at the Cantiere d’Arte Internazionale in Montepulciano, during which he composed the piece "Adiaforia" for the Ensemble degli Intrigati, arranging the same piece for orchestra performed by the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic at the "2 Agosto" International Composition Competition, and collaboration with playwright and director Laura Fatini for the show "Meta(A’)", positively reviewed by critic Roberto del Nista.

Since 2019, he has actively collaborated with composer Enea Chisci, with whom he wrote: a "Sonata" for cello and piano commissioned by the Echi festival, the "Sonata a tre" for a percussion trio, and the "Sonata a due" commissioned by DUOroboros and premiered at the Schlosstheater in Rheinsberg.

In April 2024, his first solo album "Il Circo" was released on the Workin' Label and distributed by I.R.D.
