Gabriel Owen Case

New Jersey-based jazz bassist/arranger Gabriel Case moved his creative practice to the East Coast in 2023 after having musically-collaborated extensively in the San Francisco Bay Area, New Orleans, Mexico, Japan, and Ghana.

Born July 17, 1991 in Graton, California, Gabriel's first lessons in music were learned at home listening to his mother sing and his father, also a jazz musician, play guitar. At age 19 he enrolled in San Francisco State University to study music and soon after began to work as a sideman on various jazz, latin and R&B gigs throughout the Bay Area.

In 2019 he moved to New Orleans to experience the city known as the birthplace of jazz. There he formed a salsa/ latin-jazz project called Conjunto Tierra Linda which recorded an album in 2022.

Gabriel is currently continuing his education to carry forward the tradition of live jazz music by studying arranging and composition at William Paterson University.
