Ethan Adelsman

Ask violinist Ethan Adelsman to define the genre of music that has been most influential to his career and you will find an answer hard to come by. “I can’t! I’ve always felt that music, in its purest form, can transcend genre, while at the same time incorporating all that each genre has to offer.” This belief can be seen and heard in Ethan’s playing, which combines his considerable classical technique with a sweet lyrical style, thundering tone, and an earnestness that leaves listeners breathless. The result is a music that takes the best of all genres and forms something new, something exciting, and something bold. Most recently Ethan has taken his passion for music to the world of Jazz, Teaming up with guitarist Mason Jiller and harmoncia player Graham Nelson to form the band Bowmanville. The group, which also includes second guitarist John Garza and bassist Pete Wojtowicz, can be heard putting their own exciting spin on jazz standards regularly at spots such as the Whistler Chicago, Untitled Supper Club, and in other venues throughout the country.
