Ermes Pirlo

ERMES PIRLO Accordionist and composer from Brescia, born in 1973, considered among the most interesting jazz accordionists on a national scale, he began studying the accordion at a very young age, later perfecting himself under the guidance of Simone Zanchini.

In 2006 he attended the MasterClasses held by Richard Galliano, Luciano Biondini, Gil Goldstein, the seminars organized by the "Siena Jazz Foundation" and the international "Jazzinty" seminars in Slovenia where he was included in the ensemble music class directed by John Abercrombie.

From 2007 to 2011 he participated in the permanent musical research laboratory directed by Stefano Battaglia, work documented by the recent release of "Astragalo 1" (2021), the first album of a trilogy soon to be published, born from an idea of ​​the musicologist Roberta De Piccoli in collaboration with Battaglia himself.

In 2011 he founded “Bellow's Training” (E. Pirlo, P.Biasi, E. Maniscalco) a group with which he recorded a work of only original compositions.

In 2022 he founded "E.P. Fourth 4et" (Ermes Pirlo, Roberto Bindoni, Guido Bombardieri, Francesca Remigi) for which he wrote original music.

He currently boasts a significant concert activity both as a soloist and in collaboration with established national and international artists.

He has recorded recordings and a fruitful teaching activity to his credit.

È un disco sorprendente questo Bellow's Training, e lo è fin dalla atipicità della formazione, un trio composto da fisarmonica, basso elettrico e batteria. Già questo evidenzia l'intenzione di Ermes Pirlo di esporre il proprio strumento a situazioni che, nonostante l'impiego ormai molto ampio della fisarmonica nell'ambito del jazz, non sono per esso molto frequenti.
