But where did this prodigious talent come from? It all started when Perez was just ten years old, playing guitar with his grandfather on the north and west sides of Chicago. His grandfather's love of music inspired Perez to pursue his own musical dreams, leading him to study classical guitar at the prestigious Chicago High School for the Arts. There, he became a scholar-artist and a member of the school's Jazz Combo, honing his skills and developing a passion for music that has earned him multiple awards from the Jazz Institute of Chicago, Illinois High School Association (IHSA), and more.
