Cédric Theys

I started playing guitar about 25 years ago. A few years later, I picked up the bass and played that in most bands I've been in during my musical career. After playing both instruments for over 20 years, I finally discovered the tapping instrument that I had always been looking for. I started using the touch guitar exclusively around 2015. The U8 is built by Touch Guitars in Germany. It's an 8-string instrument covering almost the full range of a classic keyboard, from a low B (like a 5 string bass) to a high D (close to the highest note on a guitar).

Over the years, I've produced and written music with several bands but since playing the touch guitar I've been focusing on soundscapes, instant compositions, experimental & progressive electronic rock. I've started writing for various instruments and ensembles in the past few years and those compositions are in the process of being released. More to come!

I have produced and recorded various projects and am the founder of Mad Ducks Records, which is home to all of my recorded output. I currently live in Austin TX with my family.
