Adir Kochavi
Adir's personal style is a combination of several music styles like Jazz, Latin and R&B, into which he integrates motifs from the music, he grew up with as a son of Israeli Jewish parents who originally came from Yemen.
Adir worked and toured all over the world with Shlomo Gronich, the Fra Fra Big Band, Lester Bowie, David Murray, Eddie Conard, Zion Golan, Ruth Jacott (ATouch of Latin 2005/2006, 2006/2007), Rumbata Big Band, Humphrey Campbell, Edy Martinez Big Band, Gerardo Rosales, Javier Plaza y Orquesta Sonrisa and Masalsa. He also participated in the theater project "R.E.S.P.E.C.T" (the celebration of great soul hits).
He received several American-Israeli Cultural Foundation Music Scholarships. Adir has a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the Sweelinck Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Adirs' first solo album "RIKUD" was released last July 2007.

Clinic/Workshop Information
Adir's workshops are designed to fit the wide range of ages young and old. They provide an excellent introduction to the Jewish-Yemenite rythms and offer a unique opportunity to create music together. Yemenite-Jewish rhythm and percussion No musical background required. These group classes offer a hands-on approach to the music, including explanation about the cultural context. Students will swap between listening, clapping and playing the drums and instruments in small groups. Introduction to Jewish-Yemenite Songs Singing is one of the best ways to be introduced to a new language.The Yemenite-Jewish music is sung in both Hebrew and Arabic languages consisting of letters and pronunciations that do not exist in the English language and require an exciting new approach to vocalization
