All About Jazz - One of the best jazz sites on the WWW... (June 1999)
Hey, we love the Pariah! Here is what BIRD LIVES had to say about AAJ in December 1998:
"We featured All About Jazz back in August and can happily report that the
monthly jazz-zine has improved, with new features.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ In fact, it's so easy
to use, and so rich in interesting content, that it rivals print media mags
like JazzTimes and Down Beat.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Unlike other mega-sites where one can easily
get lost, All About Jazz is a snap, with tasteful graphics and simple
navigation.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ I love their daily audio reviews, as well as a new feature
called On The Road, where traveling musicians post frequent reports.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ This
month's roving reporter is bassist Jimmy Haslip, live and on tour with the
Yellowjackets.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ Also featured, an interview with one of our favorite
saxmen, Dave Liebman."

All About Jazz has been awarded a Snap Editors' Choice designation in recognition of its excellence in design, content and editorial presentation.

Mentioned on FishNet's home page (June 12, 1998): "All About Jazz: Check this out! Reviews on your favorite CD's, audio reviews, talkin' jazz, music store and much more. This site has won more awards than you can imagine."

Chartbreaker Top Ten Site: "A sophisticated, cool site providing fresh updates on jazz. The professional features written by seasoned jazz fans are only a small part of this vast resource. As well covering classic jazz history right up to the latest releases from todayÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs players, there are interviews, book reviews and real Audio record reviews. Vinyl junkies can swap records with other collectors and find out whatÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs happening at festivals all around the country. A top resource."
Web Magazine Cool Site of the Day: "All About Jazz is way more polished than its tag line--"a magazine for
jazz fans by jazz fans"--would lead you to believe. The design is
sophisticated, yet clean; and the Real Audio record reviews sound like
professionals wrote and recorded them. What's more, the quantity of
material is amazing: The site covers classic jazz history as well as
the latest releases from today's players. You get interviews, record
and book reviews, and surprisingly well-written critical essays. Not
enough? You also get a chance to swap vinyl with other collectors,
find out what's happening at festivals around the country, peruse
listings for national jazz radio broadcasts, and follow links to other
jazzbo sites on the Net. An excellent resource."

Webcrawler had this to say about AAJ on October 9, 1997: "The best all-around jazz site we've found. All About Jazz provides standards like book and CD reviews, interviews, biographies, and news. Visitors will also find goodies like a jazz timeline, an etymology of jazz nicknames, and an art gallery."
Cool Bananas had this to say about AAJ on September 5, 1997: "If you're an unhip cat who thinks Kenny G is in fact a Jazz artist,
you may benefit from a visit to All About Jazz.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ
When it comes to Jazz this place has all you could ever ask for.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ
Reviews of CD's and books, some interviews with some Jazz cats and even a time line of the history of Jazz.ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ
They even have a calendar so you can find a festival near you. There is a lot more to this site but we don't want too spoil all the fun. Now please excuse us while we pop on some Coltrane... Cool Bananas Baby... Yeah... "
Subverse, a very hip short story and poetry site, reviewed AAJ on September 30, 1997.
