Yves Nadeau

About Me

Yves Nadeau got a bachelor’s degree in musical interpretation from the Université de Montréal in 1991, and has been dividing his time between his career as a professional musician and teaching music at College Marie-Victorin. Yves has been on the professional music scene since 1986 alternately as a studio musician, arranger, composer, producer, and bandleader. He has worked on different projects or shared the stage with musicians like Larry Coryell, Danny Gottlieb, Mark Egan, Jeff Berlin, Alain Caron, Michel Donato, James Gelfand, Paul Brochu, Jean-Pierre Zanella, André Leroux, Frédéric Alarie, Muhammad Abdul Al-Khabyyr, and François Cousineau. Yves has also been appearing at JAZZ FESTIVALS all across Canada, in Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal, Rimouski, Quebec City… either as leader of his own group or as accompanist for artists such as Oliver Jones, Carol Welsman, Paolo Ramos, Rémi Bolduc… to name but a few. On the popular music scene, he has played with world renown French and Canadian stars Patricia Kaas, Natasha St-Pier, Michel Rivard, Nanette Workman, Isabelle Boulay, and Bruno Pelletier. Yves has participated in a great number of recordings (radio, television, and albums), and has traveled to many countries on international tours (France, the Netherlands, Egypt, Israel, Senegal, Kenya, Haiti, and the US).

Three years ago Yves founded his group Yves Nadeau Expression, a band of 8 musicians. A grant from the CANADA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS made it possible for Yves to record the group’s first album, Tableaux, which has been available since June 2003.

Yves has been currently with CIRQUE DU SOLEIL’s “La Nouba” in Orlando, Florida since December 2004 and he is working on a concerto for two guitars and orchestra by and with jazz guitar legend LARRY CORYELL.
