About Me
YVES NADEAU - Guitarist/Composer
Yves Nadeau got a bachelor’s degree in musical interpretation from the Université de
Montréal in 1991, and has been dividing his time between his projects as a professional
musician.
Yves has been on the professional music scene since 1986 alternately as a studio musician,
arranger, composer, producer, and bandleader. He has worked on different projects with
musicians like LARRY CORYELL, TERRY CLARKE, Alain Caron, Michel Donato, James Gelfand,
Paul Brochu, Jean-Pierre Zanella, André Leroux, Frédéric Alarie, Muhammad Abdul Al-
Khabyyr, and François Cousineau. Yves has also been appearing at JAZZ FESTIVALS all
across Canada, in Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal, Rimouski,
Quebec City… either as leader of his own group or as accompanist for artists such as Oliver
Jones, Carol Welsman, Paolo Ramos, Rémi Bolduc… to name but a few. On the popular
music scene, he has played with world renown French and Canadian stars Patricia Kaas,
Natasha St-Pier, Michel Rivard, Nanette Workman, Isabelle Boulay, and Bruno Pelletier. Yves
has participated in a great number of recordings (radio, television, and albums), and has
traveled to many countries on international tours (France, the Netherlands, Egypt, Israel,
Senegal, Kenya, Haiti, and the US).
In 2001, Yves founded his group Yves Nadeau Expression, a band of 8 musicians. A grant
from the CANADA COUNCIL OF THE ARTS made it possible for Yves to record the group’s
first album, Tableaux, which has been available since June 2003.
Yves has played with CIRQUE DU SOLEIL’s “La Nouba” in Orlando, Florida from December
2004 to january 2008.
In May 2009, he played with Larry Coryell the America's premiere of Sentenza Del Cuore a
concerto for two guitars and orchestra composed by the jazz guitar legend. Later, he had
again the opportunity to share the stage with Coryell at The Montreal Jazz Festival with the
Band Bombay Jazz and the great Indian Bansouri player Ronu Majumdar.
