About Me

Drums and music have been my passion since the age of eleven. Growing up in Queens NY, I had many friends who also shared the love of music and subsequently worked in many different bands and associations. Initially, rock and progressive rock were catching my ear. It was only when my good friend's father took us to see Buddy Rich at his then new NYC nightclub, (Count Basie sat in) that I became a total jazzhead. In the years that followed I had been fortunate to see many of our jazz masters perform live which has deeply enriched my life. I have had formal study with Henry Adler, Barry Altschul and Joe Morello. Since the 1980's I have alternated between Jazz and rock projects/bands. Some of the folks I have worked with: Afraid of the Dark, Doomster, Michael Marcus, Steve Swell, Roy Campbell, Dennis Mitcheltree, The Gutter Poets, Enis, Ian Lloyd, The K's, Jonathan Kalb, Queen Tipsy, Liquid Sky, Total Soul, Frankie Marra Band, The Resistance. Currently I am accepting a limited number of students for drum instruction and continue to freelance around the NYC Metro area.
