Temika Moore

About Me

Temika Moore started her career at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts where she attended with fellow industry classmates, Boyz II Men, Amel Larreuix, Fatin Danzler (Kindred), Black Thought and ?uest Love (the Roots), Mark Nelson (Az Yet), Lizz Fields, Christian McBride and Joey DeFrancesco to name a few. While attending CAPA, Temika was invited to join an all-female vocal quintet, initially named Collage formed by Michael McCary of Boyz II Men. At the time, the group was also being sought after by industry legend, Teddy Pendergrass. Temika decided to leave the group to attend college at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she became the first Ella Fitzgerald Music Scholar, and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude and was recognized as the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Most Outstanding Graduate.

Philadelphia native and now DC metro area resident, Temika Moore is a change agent who uses an inspirational approach to writing songs and live performance. She’s a pleasant surprise. Unprejudiced in the use of sounds and styles that have shaped her aural personality, she’s funky. She’s jazzy. She’s soulful and simply organic. Temika’s current body of work “Doing Just Fine” contains original compositions such as the funky acoustic inspirational anthem “Light as a Feather,” the head bopping, jazz-infused “Let It Go,“ the heart warming tribute to Temika’s grandmother “Come Sunday,” and she also pays homage to Christian pop group Seawind with a rendition of “Follow your Road. Imagine; if you will, the folk-style of Tracy Chapman meets the refined soul of Anita Baker. Temika inspires and encourages young and old through clever, thought-provoking lyrics that call attention to social issues all while keeping you in the “pocket.” She has shared the stage with Will Downing, Roy Ayers, Marcus Johnson, and the late Stanley Turrentine. She has also opened for KEM, Cassandra Wilson, Najee, Pieces of a Dream, Melba Moore and Jean Carne to name a few.

Temika heads up Moore II Come Entertainment, a multi-faceted entertainment company providing consulting services for independent artists, along with Pink Panna Music which serves as the publishing company for Temika Moore’s music.
