About Me

Richmond Punch is a violin virtuoso who delivers a riveting, dynamic, explosive, and powerful performance! He is a graduate of Juilliard and earned a Master’s Degree from Yale University. His business specializes in live violin music for all events including special events, corporate events, concerts, festivals, weddings and worship. Mr. Punch plays everything from classical music to jazz, hip hop and gospel. He has been featured in numerous magazines, on various radio and television stations across our great nation and is now focused on international pursuits.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it speaks from the heart. An entire language from voice, or instrument, rhythm, sound, man or nature. I love playing jazz on the violin. I was first exposed to jazz through Church then my High School Booker T. Washington High School. I met Norah Jones, Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spaulding, Byron Stripling, Terrance Blanchard and many others over the years. The best show I ever attended was besides chasing Herbie Hancock in three different states was the Newport Jazz Festival. The first jazz record I bought was Duke and Ella Fitzgerald together. My advice to new listeners is don't ever limit your mind or your ear. The moment you do jazz is lost.
