My Jazz Story

My father played many instruments while I was growing up - mainly sax, bass and drums. My mom influenced me to play piano for a few years in grade school; I was always artsy and very talented at drawing and painting. My dad always exposed me to lots of music and his favorite genre, jazz. When I became a professional bellydancer it was natural for me to experiment with fusion and sample jazz together with bellydance. I created Belly of Nile ™ as a vehicle to brand my event creations and performances. My latest venture is my "Belly of Jazz" series with Marcus Johnson, an award-winning keyboardist and entrepreneur.
