My Jazz Story

I love jazz because when I was in high school I was part of our jazz band called the Blue Knights in South San Francisco. Well, after our concert, I learned Stan Kenton was performing at a place called the Thunder Bird Hotel. Scenes from the first Bullet movie were shot there. I went to see the concert with five other Blue Knights. We liked the Kenton band so much that we walked up to the dance floor to get a much closer look but the maitre de would keep pushing us to the back of the ballroom. This went on about three times. Kenton noticed, called us all over to the bandstand asked us what instrument we played and sat us according in each section. That's when I said to myself, "I really dig this scene" and have been performing ever since.
