Kitty Wu is a Jazz Diva located in Shenzhen city, China. She mainly focuses on modern Jazz and standards, but she is good at other genres too, especially country, R&B, pop and band songs. The other member in Kitty’s current duo, the pianist from Boston, America, said, “I thank God every day that I found Kitty as my singer. I am so proud of her great pronounciation/speaking skills in English. She gives me surprises in singing and performing every day. All my foreign friends, including the music directors of big hotels who heard and watched Kitty singing told me that they think Kitty is an unusual Chinese. I think she is the best female singer I can find in China.”

Kitty was found having talents in singing when she was 6 years old. She started to study music and singing by herself since then. She was always active in or sent to all types of music-related singing and performing activities/competitions in the primary school, high school and university.

She was discovered by her first band “Turn me on” and started live performing the first time at the age of 17 when she won the 1st prize in a singing competition and became the “most popular singer” on the campus. At the age of 18, she was discovered by a Jazz master from Hongkong who is also a well-known songwriter/producer all over China, especially in the 1970s and 1980s by one of his song “I smile when I see you”. Kitty joined his Jazz band of 8 people and most songs they played were their originals.

Kitty is experienced in singing and performing by playing live in many places such as Sheraton Hotel, Shangri-la Hotel, Landmark Hotel, Truecolor, McCawley’s, the Red’s Bar, the V-bar at the Crown Plaza, Green Cards, etc.

Kitty has been working together with producers from mainland China, Hongkong, Australia, America, to name a few. She is planning on releasing her first CD early next year of 2008. Any producers, record labels or management companies that are interested in Kitty are welcomed to make a contact with her.

Kitty is currently performing at a new Jazz bar in the beautiful seaworld of Shenzhen. Her No. 1 fan, an American, Danial Pippin is a loyal following.
