My Jazz Story

I love jazz because the music gives the musician freedom to stretch out and expand musical concepts. I was first exposed to jazz when I was in my early 20"s. I was basically a R&B/Funk bassist until I was exposed while doing session work on the east coast. I met Phil Perry and had the honor of playing for him when he performed at one of his concerts in Cincinnati. The best show I ever attended was at theBerks Jazz Festival 2012 with Gerald Albright and Will downing. I saw several others great jazz artists also but this show was the one for me that made me an eternal Berks Jazz fest fan. The first jazz record I bought was Jazz Crusaders Southern Comfort. My advice to new listeners... Or whatever else you have in mind.
