Kenji Yoshitake Bassist, Composer, Arranger and Educator

About Me

Kenji Yoshitake was born in Japan in 1985. He started electric bass when he was 12 years old. After high school graduation, he entered Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Yokohama. And he studied acoustic bass, jazz theory, ear training, jazz arranging and ensemble.

In 2007, after receiving scholarship, he moved to Boston to go to Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, he studied with musicians such as John Lockwood, Greg Osby, Dave Santro, Victor Mendoza, Dave Samuels, Oscar Stagnaro, Marcello Pellitteri and Whit Brown.

After Berklee College of Music graduation, he moved to New York and he has playing around NY area. He has been performing with singer Tony Middleton at Kitano every Sunday.
