Joy’s unique interpretations of jazz, reggae, and neo-Caribbean soul offer listeners a taste of paradise. Her soothing vocals and vibrant presence combine to create a scintillating experience for her audience. Joy was born on the enchanting island of Barbados. As she shape-shifts between the United States, Europe and the Caribbean, her music gives voice to the joy of embodiment. When she’s not touring, Joy is based in Miami Beach. She performs at landmark locations in Miami Beach, such as the Fontainebleau, the Loews, and the Ritz-Carlton. Joy is also available for corporate and private events. Joy is a gypsy woman of magnitude! While living in New York City, Joy defied gravity, dancing all over the United States with the Urban Bush Women – a bold and life affirming dance theater ensemble. In Los Angeles, Joy crooned jazz standards with the Verdugo Swing Society – a long-standing 17-piece big band. In New England, Joy created innovative and progressive choreopoems with Chrysalis Theatre - a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary performance ensemble. In Munich, Joy moved the masses in nightclubs and music festivals, infusing German nightlife with her vocal expression and electrifying movement. Wherever she performs, Joy delights in creating spontaneous beauty.
