On songs from the Golden Age of Jazz and the New American Songbook, Brazilian and Latin jazz, Debbie's dynamic style is showcased on her debut CD, “Child's Play” released in 2014 and available on her website, www.debbieorta.com. “Child's Play” has had radio plays worldwide to positive reviews and reaction from her audiences as well as her contemporaries.

Debbie utilizes original as well as classic arrangements, performing with exceptional and well respected names in the genre. Debbie performs in concert and nightclubs with her Quintet featuring pianist Mike Orta, bassist Nicky Orta, drummer Carlomagno Araya, and saxophonist Ed Maina.

Available with her Jazz Trio, Quartet or Quintet providing Top Quality Modern Jazz for your event.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it is so expressive and deep, like the best love affair of your life... I was first exposed to jazz as a child in New York when my parents sang and played piano in the house and always had music playing on the stereo. The first jazz record I bought was Hubert Laws, Passionfruit, which was jazz and R&B. My advice to new listeners of jazz; listen on headphones when you will have uninterrupted time to enjoy it. Also, find the artists you like best and enjoy! My various musical influences color my songwriting, my choices of what to sing, as well as my vocal inflections and timbre. I'm a product of my musical heart! Hope you enjoy my sound and that you will be physically affected in the most beautiful ways when you hear my songs! (smile)
