My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...it allows the jazz musicians to share their musical soul with others instrumentally through improvisation. I was first exposed to jazz... by first listening to The Crusaders at a live performance in Boston, Massachusetts in the late Seventies. I met saxophonist Gerald Albright at a live performance at George Mason University... an incredible musician! The best show I ever attended was... Earth, Wind and Fire live at Madison Square Garden in New York. The first jazz record I bought was... "In Flight" by George Benson. My advice to new listeners... Jazz is like food, you have to acquire a tast for it! "Music is the Message" - Kool and the Gang. Or whatever else you have in mind.
