My Jazz Story

I co-founded South Jersey Music Education Partnership in 2013 with my M-Town Jazz Jam band mates in Sept of 2012 to help ensure kids have opportunities to study music. As the musical director of M-Town Jazz Jam we also give young jazz musicians the opportunity to sit in with us at rehearsals and concerts to gain valuable bandstand experience. I feel it is important for jazz musicians to reach out to the younger generation to ensure that there is an audience for many years to come. We can no longer count on our public schools to provide the art education that we had growing up; We must fill that gap to keep the music alive.
