About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it is a improvisational conduit to freeing the soul.
I was first exposed to jazz from my father who listened to a lot of Basie, Ellington, and Stan Kenton, but also to Charlie Parker, Sonny Stitt and of course, Miles Davis
and
others.
The best show I ever attended was Miles Davis
Since I inherited my father's record collection, the first record I actually bought with my money was Chameleon, by Herbie Hancock.
My advice to new listeners is to keep an open ear and mind to what you're hearing. Improvisational music such as Jazz is not microwave music, so let the song develop
and
see how you feel after the entire experience.
