Bugra Balci
A versatile Jazz pianist, keyboardist and composer. His music aims to bring together the classical piano of baroque, romantic, contemporary and the improvisational nature of Jazz
About Me
Bugra has performed in Turkey, Europe, and the US. He has had the honor to play with
musicians such as Alex Alexandar, Marko Djordjevic, Vinx De'Jon Parrette, Kim Plainfield,
Tim Miller, Ara Dinkjian, Alessandro Sgobbio etc.
He was substitute teacher at The Collective School of Music.
He also appeared several album recordings as a sideman including Pete Jung with Marko
Djordjevic and Alessandro Sgobbio's upcoming album.
He has several selected premiered compositions in Chicago, New York, California.
He has 4 published books.
He won the Yamaha All Stars Vol.1 Award of Turkey in 2008. During his studies he studied
classical harmony with Turgut Aldemir and classical piano with Esin Durmaz at Dokuz Eylul
University. He received several scholarships from World's well-known colleges and
institutes such as Berklee, The Collective, Italy Siena Jazz etc. The last school he was
attended is Queens College as Jazz master (MA) department.
My Jazz Story
I was a classical pianist and composer. I just wanted to do both of them at the same time. It was when I first met jazz.
