Benjamin Roy

About Me

Benjamin Roy was born on June 8, 1969 in France. At the age of 7 he began to study saxophone at the Conservatoire / Music academy. At 18 he discovered Jazz and played saxophone in  funk & R&B bands In 1993 he graduates from the Audiovisual National French High School “Louis Lumière” as a sound engineer. At the same time he learned jazz arrangements as an autodidact. He choosed baritone saxophone and started to frequent jazz clubs assiduously. With the “ Salt&Pepper”&”Bone&Bari” bands, he did an homage to Pepper Adams . At the same time he also played in some well known Big Bands. With Lionel Belmondo & Francois Theberge he increased his jazz knowledge in jazz workshops. In 1998, he started to compose and write songs for TV Series, and commercials. In 2000 ,he created  “Pénélope 04” a Music Production, Artist&Producer Company. He released Rn'B, Pop and House projects such Moon,Still my Lover,Horses In 2005 ,he recorded  his 20 pieces  Big Band at the Davout studio in Paris  and released ”The Pepper Pills Big Band” album. In septembre 2005 he performed live with the Pepper Pills Big band  at the famous world -renowned “New Morning “, The parisian jazz concert hall.
