Alex Jasperse
I’m sorry, son, but you’ve got musical synesthesia… those colours won’t be going away, I’m afraid
About Me
In the world of critics, Alex Jasperse is a self-described ‘newbie.’ While underage in the United States, and just of age in Canada, his love of all things connected to music, combined with his interest in writing, has (inevitably) led him into the field of music reviews. Having spent half his of life playing trombone in numerous jazz bands (and more recently playing electric guitar in a number of highly experimental prog and ambient groups), he’s had the opportunity to perform at numerous festivals and large-scale concerts in both Canada and the US.
After being exposed to highly experimental works, in both the ambient and free jazz genres, Alex has become fascinated in exploring the unrestricted possibilities of the sonic realms. Currently a full-time university student in Ottawa, Alex hopes he can offer a slightly different perspective in the world of reviews.
