About the Album
Encounter is a piece I wrote based on a video art installation by artist Despina Meimaroglou. It is dedicated to her family's past in Alexandria, Egypt. The melodic approach is influenced by Byzantine and Middle Eastern music. I have had the joy to have with me a fantastic group of musicians, highlighted by the great Leo Genovese on the Fender Rhodes.
