About the Album

Composed by Joe Brent, Americannia is the album's second track inspired by Jimi Hendrix's multilayered guitar textures. After the intro and once the full band enters, the first section uses instruments and sounds primarily from American folk and country music, most distinctively in Mike Robinson’s pedal steel. The final section borrows rhythms and harmonies from Black American music: J Dilla, D’Angelo, Hendrix. The juxtaposition wasn’t pre-planned, it just turned out that way.
