About the Album

Smarmy pays homage to the "Lector"...In 1864 the concept of a Lector was introduced, when Antonio Leal was hired to read at the Vina Cigar Factory in Bejucal, Cuba. The institution of the "Lector" traveled with cigar makers to Key West, Tampa and some points in the north.. His job was to read the daily news, stories and keep inform the cigar makers of the daily events. Today with the advent of social media, we all have become "Lectors" tweeting the news that affects our daily lives. Smarmy salutes all those "Fine Lectors"
