Rod Melancon Interview

Date Featured: July 6, 2014

Listens: 458 | Duration: 51:39

Rod Melancon is young singer/songwriter in the Americana genre. He's from the Cajun lowlands of Louisiana, but is now based in Los Angeles. He has just released his second album, Parish Lines, produced by guitarist Brian Whelan of the Dwight Yoakum band. He's a storyteller in the tradition of Bruce Springsteen and Hank Williams with the energy of a young Elvis, and the attitude of James Dean. His songs convey the drama in the close-knit community where he was raised, and he has an uncanny knack for evoking honesty, tenderness, melancholy, and raw emotions with his voice.
