Robert Walter is a bona fide scholar make that a Rhodes scholar- of the dusty vintage groove. A perusal of his ten list will also reveal that he enjoys some very modern masters as well. Known as a badass B-3 man, he's also a master of electric piano who happens to have an acoustic piano recording on his short-term goal list as well.

His original membership in The Greyboy Allstars and current relentless touring with his 20th Congress (www.20thcongress.com), as well as some great side projects, like Mike Clark’s Prescription Renewal, has made him a marquee name in the jamband world. Robert’s got a new one out under his own name on Premonition Records, laden with soul-funk ringers Harvey Mason, Phil Upchurch, Red Holloway and Chuck Rainey (as well as percussionist Chuck Prada from his own band) called “There Goes the Neighborhood”. Watch for him on the road with Soulive this Spring, and back out on the west coast with a tour supporting his solo record, featuring all the personnel listed above except for Stanton Moore, who will play drums instead of Harvey Mason.
