Martin Koller arrived onto the international scene seemingly out of nowhere with his incredbible 2000 release, Right Now). A self-confessed studio neophyte, Martin somehow packed Alan Holdsworth, Squarepusher and Mick Karn (yes, Martin plays all guitars, basses and does all the sequencing/programming on the disc) into a digital blender, added a dash of Gerald Preinfalk's sax, and somehow came up with a highly personalized, potently energizing jazz-fusion-electronica smoothie.

Playing with an array of accomplished international artists such as the Vienna Art Orchestra, Wolfgang Puschnig, Peter Herbert, Per Mathissen, Alex Acuna , George Garzone,Terri Lyne Carrington, Matt Garrison, Geri Allen and Gary Thomas keeps Martin pretty busy between studio dates, but he has a couple of projects that should be ready by year's end. Keep an eye on him at www.kollermusic.de, and check out our February 2001 Interview.
