Gutarist Cary DeNigris emerged in the late 80's as a featured member of the Chico Hamilton Quartet, with whom he recorded five groundbreaking CD's, one of them, "Trio" without benefit or need (thanks to Cary's covering all the basses) of a bassist. Notwithstanding, he recruited fellow Hamilton bandmate/bassist Paul Ramsey and drummer Drori Mondlak (Frank Foster), into his his own power trio in 1997, resulting in their fantastic Y2K debut Between the Lines). No less of an authority than Bill Milkowski has dubbed Cary one of the five hottest “fusion” players on the scene.
