15-May-1998 -- Kenny Sutherland writes:

As a Scottish bagpiper, I was greatly intrigued after hearing a rumour about some guy from Philadelphia who plays Jazz on the bagpipes, ie Rufus Harley. After searching unsuccessfuly for some months for any of his recordings I was fortunate to find his album "Tribute to Courage" in a small second-hand store while in New York earlier this year. I love the album even more than I thought I would but have been unable to find anything else since. I would greatly appreciate any information about him or his recordings. Many thanks in advance.

Kenny, check out the JAZZ IS (ain't nothin' but soul) site. Rufus is *one* eccentric cat -- Rahsaan Roland Kirk would have been proud.
