Joscho Stephan and Sven Jungbeck at The Roads Bistro

Two of the leading proponents of gypsy jazz made a special appearance at The Roads Bistro recently, Joscho Stephan and Sven Jungbeck. Stephan is a German guitarist known for his interpretations of classical, jazz and pop standards in the style of gypsy jazz. Heavily influenced by the legendary Django Reinhardt, Stephan has garnered a world wide reputation for his virtuosity and passion.

Sven Jungbeck is the rhythm guitarist in Stephan's trio. He too was drawn into the world of gypsy jazz at a young age. Not only was Jungbeck influenced by Reinhardt but but also flamenco, world music and folk.

The Roads Bistro is becoming the venue for many jazz artist who seldom visit the Norfolk. In early April, French guitarist Stephane Wrembel is bringing his quartet.
