The opening set recognizes Black History Month with poetry and spoken word from Shirley LeFlore, Kamau Daood & Langston Hughes. New releases sampled come from albums by Belgian/Nowegian pianist Jonas Cambien, the great Satoko Fujii with her Tokyo Trio, two by prolific saxophonist Ivo Perelman, guitarist Dave Harrington, the Chicago explorative piano trio of Jim Baker, Steve Hunt and Jakob Heinemann, and NYC saxophonist Sam Weinberg. Lots more good music for your ears and brain too.
