2023 was another banner year for jazz of all shapes and sizes. It has been a pleasure to review so many splendid big-band albums along with wonderful enterprises by smaller groups, some of which were recording for the first time (hopefully, not the last). If this was a preview of things to come, we look forward with eagerness and enthusiasm to the coming year and what it may have to offer.
