Meet Dorothy Doring: Dorothy Doring is a Minnesota-based jazz vocalist and music educator. She successfully balances employment between teaching for the Saint Paul Public Schools and performing at various clubs in the Twin Cities area. Doring prefers to use her free time reading, traveling and listening to music. Dorothy Doring recorded Southern Exposure in New Orleans with producer and arranger David Torkanowsky, now available on iTunes and CDbaby.com.

When were you happiest? When I was living in New Orleans the summer of 2004, before Katrina.

What is your greatest fear? Of falling.

What is your earliest memory? At three years old...singing songs with my mother at home.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? Impatience.

What is the trait you most deplore in others? Rudeness.

What is your most treasured possession? My library.

What would your superpower be? To see the future.

Who would play you in the film of your life? The narrator.

What is your most unappealing habit? Crossing my arms.

Which person would you most like to meet, and why? Oprah Winfrey...because I admire her and would love to be her friend.

Which living person do you most admire, and why? My sister Marilyn, because she makes a difference in peoples' lives.

Which living person do you most despise, and why? A hypocrite.

If you could go back in time, where would you go? I would go back to the era of the '30s big band.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? oof-da...oh dear.

Aside from a property, what is the most expensive things you have ever bought? My car.

Where would you like to live? Europe.

What makes you depressed? Listening to news about war.

What do you most dislike about your appearance? My legs.

What is your favorite smell? Lilacs.

What is your favorite book? The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

To whom would you most like to say sorry, and why? My brother...because he is in pain.

Have you ever said "i love you" and not meant it? No.

Who would you like to invite to your dream dinner party? Tony Bennett.

When did you last cry, and why? a week ago..at a movie.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life? More free time.

What keeps you awake at night? Coffee.
