| How to Include Images
Including CD cover art with your reviews or articles
We encourage you to include the CD cover art with your CD review. Including the artwork benefits the reader, the artist, and makes the review look complete.
Steps to finding and including a cover art URL:
- Go to a retail site like Amazon, CD Universe, Tower, or CD Baby; or a resource site like AMG. If you can't find the artwork at a retail store site, try the artist's site or the record label's site.
- Once at the site, search by the artist's name or the CD title.
- If the search returns the title, click on the CD cover art and continue to click on the cover art until it doesn't return a larger version.
- If you're a Windows user, right-click on the artwork and select "properties." If you use a Mac, right click (or control-click) on the artwork to open it in a new window.
- Highlight the address with your mouse and copy it to the clipboard.
- Toggle back to the CD review and paste the URL into "Cover Art URL" box on the box on the CD review submission page.
This may sound complicated, but it's a very simple process and you should master the technique within one or two tries.
Including photos or illustrations with your articles
We highly recommend the GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH to find photos. Go to http://www.google.com/advanced_image_search?hl=en, type in a keyword(s) [ ex: "Miles Davis" ] and review the results until you find the image that best suits your needs. Repeat steps 4 & 5 above and paste the URL into the "URL for photo accompanying article" box on the article submission form.
The AAJ article editor will follow up with the photographer, ask for permission, then credit accordingly.
