Located in Paris (France), Mephisto is both a photo studio and a photo library specializing in jazz and the blues. Mephisto was created in 1985 by Yves Carrère and Didier Ferry.
Mephisto works regularly with the specialist magazines (Jazzman, Jazz Magazine, DownBeat, Jazziz, Musica Jazz, etc.) and numerous record labels (Universal, Blue Note, Sony, Enja, Label Bleu, Justin Time, etc.).
At the same time as their photographic activities in the realms of the press and publication illustrations, and in response to the constant requests of jazz fans around the world, Mephisto has created a collection of high-quality posters at a reasonable price (24 Euros for large format and 11 Euros for medium format). There are also autographed copies of some of these posters available for 44 Euros. The first two posters (Sonny Rollins and James Carter) were released in June 2001 and since then the collection has expanded to include 27 new works (Dee Dee Bridgewater, Pat Metheny, Chet Baker, Chick Corea and many others).
