2002 Vancouver International Jazz Festival by Josephine Ochej
Writer/photographer Josephine Ochej has been covering the Vancouver music scene for more than a dozen years. Ochej co-owned two alternative weeklies (AF Magazine, Terminal City) for eight years before coming to the inevitable (and blessed) conclusion that jazz is what mostly matters and set out on a freelance career. She is a contributor to Coda Magazine, Planet Jazz, Vancouver Jazz and Vancouver's urban weekly, the Westender. In what hasn't yet represented a conflict of interest, Ochej is President of the Board of Directors of Vancouver's 25-year-old bastion of improvisation, the NOW Orchestra.
