DAVID LONGORIA sings and plays the trumpet. He grew up listening to trumpeters Al Hirt, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Herb Alpert, Raphael Mendez and other musicians like Oscar Peterson, Buddy Rich, Pete Fountain, Jaco Pastorius and many others. He credits each of them with adding a little something to his sound. He glides effortlessly through jazz and pop alike. David's new album BAILA!will be released at the end of 2011. The first single from the album, a pop dance song titled DEEPER LOVE features David and R&B/dance diva CECE PENISTON as they sing together this European influenced blend of Latin Jazz, Pop and House Music. The song sports a haunting trumpet line whose infectious melody will linger long after the song ends. This single has already risen to number 14 on the USA Billboard Chart.
The second single from BAILA! is an instrumental contemporary Jazz song called Sunset. This features European top guitarist MARC ANTOINE along with David.
In November 2011 Del Oro Music will release David Longoria's instrumental song Zoon Baloomba which combines current dance club music with David's own jazzy and melodic playing. There will be a music video release for this song as well.
Another upcoming single from the album Mi Corazon features David singing a tale of travel through a Spanish town where he happens upon a young lady that deeply affects him. The Flamenco/Salsa mix is as energetic as it is catchy. David sings the chorus in Spanish and even those who don't speak the language understand the memorable romantic meaning. The trumpet work on this song is a truly passionate Spanish performance- so powerful it has probably never yet been heard by this generation.
Also featured on the upcoming album is a David Longoria original piece titled A CASTLE IN SPAIN, and features the guest performance of guitar great OTTMAR LIEBERT along with David.
David was trained as a classical trumpeter before discovering jazz - which opened up the world of improvisation to his music. He excelled as a soloist, performing with orchestras and bands throughout the world. His songwriting, productions and performing have brought him to work with many of the best musical artists of our time. His talents have been tapped by artists from virtually every genre of music from Pop and R&B to Jazz, Flamenco and Rock. He is as at home with a slamming Dance track as he is with an Jazz/R&B groove or a Blues jam. Find more information at www.davidlongoria.com

The tone of his trumpet is reminiscent of that of both Herb Alpert and Arturo Sandoval. He is an exceptional trumpet player and he demonstrates his expertise continually with each song that he performs. He is also a very skilled vocalist who communicates wonderfully with an audience.

Rarely does an instrumentalist make his way through the endless loops and samples of modern dance music. David Longoria is a clear exception. His astounding prowess on the trumpet is enough to marvel at.

I'll make this really simple... WOW!!!! And I mean that with very capital letters. After over 20 years in the Smooth Jazz world, I must admit I've gotten a bit jaded and it does take a lot to knock my socks off. Well folks, David Longoria has managed to get me barefoot...
