Transistor

Recorded and mixed by Scotch Ralston at NRG Studios. Mastered at Ocean View by Joe Gastwirt.

Recording began on March 11, 1997, and ended on June 1, 1997 at 3:11 PM.

Commenting on the title of the album, Hexum said "We are all transistors of the same energy from the sun."

Rewind about two minutes before the first track to hear what is referred to as the "Transistor Intro", an instrumental 311 used to open some of their live shows during that era.

According to the band, the noise towards the end of "Stealing Happy Hours" was recorded in outer space.

The first 5,000 copies of this CD included four 311 stickers inside the package.

"Light Years" contains a sample of "I Wanna Be Black" written and performed by Michelle Clinton, courtesy of New Alliance Records.

"Strangers" contains a sample of "Hands On Experience" written and performed by The High and Mighty, courtesy of Eastern Conference Records.

"Electricity" was originally titled "Fuck the KKK".
