BRIGHT FLARES

Chasing the same dream for decades

Can't dim the glow we shared:

It was transferred into music

And I sense you in those sounds

Flowing thru the atmosphere.

The glory in shared passions

Made pure, ring clear

As I listen to the sax, remembering

The days I heard your version

Playing in my livingroom

Still astounds all the brain cells

Wishing you were here to share

But nothing I can offer as lure.

Poems map the pathway in the abstract.

Needs your willingness to flare

Bright enuf to ignite the union

Still smoldering in the atmosphere.

TO SHARE THE NEED

Sept. shift as days shorten

Under the spray of dead leaves

Falling as rain descends in torrents

While I indoors, on my knees

Thankful for the memories

Awakened by the melodies

That pave the way to harmony

Recalling how we shared that need

Echoes of which still follow me

The richness of those sounds the key

That frees our love from the shackles ---

The actual slapped on our needs

Which pulled you far from me.

DARED EXPRESSION

The Ben Webster beat

So mellow and sweet

The sense of rubbed skin

Letting you in

Thru the flow of rich tunes

That re-activate ancient runes.

The full range of passions shared

Transferrred thru poems, dared

Expression of feelings running deep

Wishing the actual to meet;

To melt in the heat of our embrace

Felt as I wander thru space

Remembering the glory when as one

Reflected in every tune.

"KENNY G"

Release of emotions thru harmony

Creates avenues into memory

When I watched you play the horn

Echoes of which still roam

Thru air currents humming tunes

As the CD spins thru this room

And I sense you vibrating all around

Filling me with rich beauty

As the sax recalls our passion

In fine detail absorbing all.

Played thru every CD-daydream

Still a possibility in my brain

Remembering how you held me

Images overwhelming me again.
