Considered one of the world's greatest players, Joe Diorio is a master of the guitar, skilled in Mainstream performance and expert in Free-Form Style playing.

With over 30 years experience as a performer and recording artist, Diorio has worked with such jazz luminaries as Sonny Stitt, Eddie Harris, Stan Getz, Horace Silver and Freddie Hubbard. He has toured Italy with Riccardo Del Fra (bass player with Chet Baker, Johnny Griffin, Toots Thielemans) and has released eight CDs on RAM Records: two solo guitar albums We Will Meet Again (RMCD 4501) and To Jobim With Love ; Double Take (RMCD 4502), which includes the live recordings of the performances with Riccardo Del Fra; RARE BIRDS (RMCD 4505) a duo album with Mick Goodrick; More Than Friends (RMCD 4514), a trio recording with Steve La Spina and Steve Bagby; Narayani with the Joe Diorio Hal Crook Quartet, and now I Remember You. In addition, he is featured on over 20 other albums as both a leader and sideman with musicians such as Harvie Swartz, Sonny Stitt, Eddie Harris, Benny Green, Horace Silver, Anita O'Day, and Gijs Hendriks. He has toured and performed in jazz festivals throughout the U.S., Holland, Belgium, Italy and Argentina among others.

Highly respected as an educator, Joe Diorio currently teaches at the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA (where he is one of the three founding instructors) and at the University of Southern California, and has conducted Jazz Guitar seminars throughout the U.S., Europe and Brazil. In addition to teaching, Diorio has: released an instructional video; written articles for Guitar Player Magazine and five instructional books; and has recently completed a new book "A Guitar Approach to Rhythm Changes" (published by Casa Musicale Tarasconi) that has been translated in French and Italian.
