April Aloisio

April Aloisio's pure soprano voice offers an exotic and exquisite musical blend from classic jazz to Brazilian and Latin songs. A Chicago native, Aloisio has performed at the Chicago Jazz Festival, Taste of Chicago, the Southport Festival, the Bop Shop, the Green Mill, and the Chicago Cultural Center.

A recording artist for the Southport label, Aloisio has released three CDs: "Brazilian Heart," "Footprints," and "Easy to Love" with Von Freeman, Eldee Young, Redd Holt, Howard Levy, Dave Onderdonk, Fareed Haque, Steve Million and Johnny Frigo, among others.

As part of her recorded discography, her self-titled album was released in 1982 on Cincinnati's Mo-Pro label. She can be heard on CDs by King Fleming, Paulinho Garcia, Marshall Vente, Bradley Parker-Sparrow and Joannie Pallatto, as well as the film soundtrack for "Waiting for the Man."

April Aloisio performs in duo, trio and large ensemble settings.
