In the half-century plus since it came out, the Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo (Columbia Records, 1968) arguably has not received the accolades it deserves for its marriage of country music with rock and roll. But that misperception may be grounded in the reality that the album as it was released is not exactly how it was recorded or intended for issue.
